Government stops rising supervision fees in 2020 proposed by CMVM

The Securities Market Commission (CMVM) submitted the supervisory fees proposal to be charged in 2020 at the beginning of the year. If approved, the institution led by Gabriela Figueiredo Dias would receive another two million euros from those supervised. After several months, the proposal has not yet been approved by the Ministry of Finance and was left in the drawer, you know the Jornal Económico (JE).

The matter was left out because of the pandemic, but until then the analysis by the Ministry of Finance pointed to a rejection of the increase in supervised fees, proposed by the CMVM, and which in some cases resulted in a significant increase, JE learned from source connected to the process. According to the same source, the ministry asked for additional information from the capital market regulator and this remained the matter until the departure of Mário Centeno, Ricardo Mourinho Félix and Álvaro Novo.
