PSD Madeira presents 54 changes to the State Budget

PSD Madeira presented 54 amendments to the State Budget for 2021 to be discussed in the specialty, hoping that the PS deputies elected by the region will approve them in the Assembly of the Republic.

“In this crucial phase of the specialty of the State Budget, our commitment, our work and our determination to defend Madeira are once again demonstrated, and it is in the name of the best interests of our region that we hope to be able to make most of the 54 proposals viable. of amendment that we presented ”, declared the PSD / Madeira deputy Sara Madruga da Costa in a press conference.

The Social Democrat also left the call for the socialist deputies elected to the national parliament “not to vote against Madeira, similarly to what, unfortunately, they have done in the last State Budgets, especially in this difficult phase in which we find ourselves and when the convergence of interests, in favor of Madeirans, must be superior or priority over political or partisan interests ”.

Sara Madruga da Costa said that, “together with the 10 commitments that were approved in the previous State Budget and that the Government of the Republic did not fulfill and omitted in the Budget for 2021 - as is the case with the regulation of the Social Mobility Subsidy, the implementation the 'ferry', the access of the University of Madeira to community funds, the payment of health charges for returnees from Venezuela and investments in police stations at the Public Security Police and in RTP Madeira - the proposed amendments to the PSD also affect other areas very important ”for the region.

Among these, he points out the case of the International Business Center of Madeira (IBC), in relation to which the PSD presents a proposal to unblock the situation and approve the extension of licenses from 1 January 2021.

In tourism, the PSD proposes the creation of a specific line of support for the sector and appropriate instruments for the modernization of companies; in agriculture, it proposes to compensate the region for the losses resulting from a possible reduction in the Community POSEI program; in culture, he defends the equivalence of the Classical Orchestra of Madeira with the Regional Orchestra and its access to national funds.

In transport, it reiterates the reduction in airport charges at airports in the region, the carrying out of pending investments and in Higher Education the reinforcement and increase in funding from the University of Madeira.

"We also have several other proposals that focus on health, housing, civil protection and we also presented a tax package and proposals that intend to regularize the State's debts to Madeira", recalled the deputy, adding that the PSD also proposed , the provision of an insularity allowance to all workers of the central administration in Madeira, as well as the attribution of a double insularity allowance to NATO court officials and agents in Porto Santo.

It was also proposed to equate, for the purposes of retirement and retirement, workers integrated in the career of nature watchdog and the forest guard corps.

“Finally, and in relation to the endorsement - and to end the ordeal we have seen in recent months - we propose an amendment, so that the Government is now authorized to grant personal guarantees to the region, namely to deal with 19 ”, he added.
