ENP deputy José Luís Ferreira said today that the Government has shown an openness to suspend payment this year on behalf of the IRC and to create a treasury fund for small and micro companies.

José Luís Ferreira spoke to journalists after meeting with the Prime Minister in São Bento about the Government's future proposals for an economic and social stabilization program and a supplementary budget.

At the political level, the ENP deputy considered that "it is too early" to define a position on these Government diplomas, when, moreover, during today's meeting, no written document was delivered by the executive.

“In particular, we placed two proposals on the table for micro and small companies, the first of which has to do with the need to create a treasury fund that will ensure the payment of wages, rents and other fixed costs. . This treasury fund should have a grace period of around two years and with a zero interest rate ”, he said.

According to the ecologist deputy, the second proposal presented by the ENP relates to “the suspension of payment on behalf of the IRC”.

“It is absolutely necessary to suspend this payment on account at least this year”, he advocated, saying, afterwards, that the executive showed openness towards this proposal, as well as in relation to the measure for the creation of a treasury fund for small and micro companies. companies.

The ENP deputy even said that he was “pleased” at the meeting with the Government, saying that there was “receptivity”, both in relation to the creation of the treasury fund, as well as with regard to the suspension of payment on account.

“No commitment was made here, but the Government said that this proposal from the treasury fund was also on its radar. As for the suspension of payment on account of the IRC for small and medium-sized companies, we also felt that there was an opening by the Government to seriously consider this measure ”, he stressed.

José Luís Ferreira also expressed his agreement with the Government's intention to proceed with the elimination of asbestos from educational establishments, defended that a stronger bet on recycling could create another five thousand jobs and demanded a reinforced investment in the National Service of Health and public transport, especially on the railroad and bicycle.

However, the deputy of the ENP objected to the decision to abandon the limit to capacity for air transport, leaving a series of warnings to the Government regarding the health plan.

“The motivation can be pressure from airlines, therefore, an economicist reason. Not being supported by the health authorities, this measure may be an element that will put an end to the effort to combat [the covid-19] that has been made over the past few months ”, he justified.
